The Collector by John Fowles

This has sat in my lair for YEARS. Stupid Demon. A classic.
Told in his and hers fashion, this is the story of one man's obsession carried out in a clinical style which suited the situation.
Had never seen the film either (some Smiths fan ) but that's to be shortly rectified.
The ending literally chilled me to the bone mainly due to the lightness of touch in describing it. One I am plugging LF (but it's 57 years old FFS )
I read The Magus years ago and wasn't that taken with it at the time. Who knows now ...

The Way Home by George Pelecanos

Crime novel from one of the folk that brought you The Wire.
A stupid punk kid grows up and finds stability within the world of routine. Sadly, ghosts from his past threaten to destroy all he has achieved. Told in a decently gripping fashion, and even if the ending is slightly flawed imho, twas still worth the read.

David Bowie A Life by Dylan Jones

What another one? Told in a chronological fashion through "eyewitness" accounts (including the Dame himself), I learned something new about his family history, so for that reason alone , I recommend this to fans and non fans alike.

Finished Audible Sandman brilliant one of the best audio books I've listened too.

Runs around 10 hours and covers the first three volumes

Preludes & Nocturnes

The Doll's House

Dream Country

Even though we only hear him , I can't see anyone else in the role Morpheus for the living action show than James McAvoy now.

Hope they do other volumes as well as Hellbalzer and Lucifer.

Down And Out In Paris And London (George Orwell)

Eric slums it with a lame Russian keeping him abreast of etiquette. Somewhat dated (quel surprise) but still wonderfully descriptive in its telling.

Homage To Catalonia next!!!

I enjoy Orwell's non-fiction, have you read his essays? Some of them are really great.
