My dark side issue 150 arrived yesterday. Looking forward to reading the article on Amicus films.

Just picked up my first copy of The Dark Side in years.I was in WHSmith earlier on today and spotted it on the shelf. It's an issue devoted to Amicus, so hopefully should make an interesting read.

Interesting to know if the article is the same as the Dark Side Amicus book that was released about 8 years back 'The Studio that Dripped Blood' - had some interesting stuff, but a lot of errors.

From FaceBook:

"Our long-awaited Amicus book is finally written and going into design shortly. We have booked a slot with our printers for October 18th and copies will be delivered to us on the 28th and then mailed out first class as a Halloween treat to buyers! This is going to be far and away the definitive book on the company and it will also be the most amazing looking, glossy and full colour throughout. Our good friend Denis Meikle has been a great help in sourcing some truly amazing shots from even the most obscure Amicus productions. It has occurred to me that since our next issue comes out in shops on September 29th and the following one on November 11th, we will be well advised to take pre-orders on it. I also thought it might be a fun idea to devote an acknowledgments page in the book to personally name and thank all who pre-order before the 18th! Do you think this is a good idea? The book will be £20 and it will be sold exclusively through the magazine. You will see the ad for it with finished cover etc in our very next issue. It will be the first of many new Dark Side books now we have pretty much exhausted all of our old stocks! Look for the ad in the next issue."

Looks like there could be a new 'Dark Side' spin-off magazine coming:

"I don't want to be swamped here, but we are in the early stages of planning a sic-fi 'sister' to The Dark Side, which means a magazine that covers vintage SF shows and movies as well as reviewing more modern films. I already have a bunch of great contributors who will be supplying stuff on a regular basis but I need to find some really anally retentive Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek buffs to beam aboard. The ability to write in a fun, friendly and knowledgeable manner is essential, and if you can supply pics as well then you're probably in! This could be a nice little mag to go alongside DS and if you fancy getting involved then feel free to drop me an email at editor@thedarksidemagazine"

Just a bit of Darkside news, Rick Melton has left the mag so no more of those cool covers I guess but maybe we might see Rick more on here...

Did there not used to be a sci-fi sister mag years ago? I think it was called Infinity?
