Allan Bryce replied to someone on Facebook saying that the only book they ever did in hardback was the Zombie one, which made it look like a Beano annual, so from that I’m guessing it’s paperback

I guess that means because they are thin tomes.

Or because Melton's cover was so comical.

He does say that this is bigger than their other books. I’m getting someone to order it for me to put away for Christmas

The "Blood and black lace" book i have of theirs is about A4 size and isn't hardback but has held together well considering the amount of times i've looked through it (and still do). Probably had it over 10 years.
That one was about 150 pages.

Yeah my Blood and Black Lace book has held together well too. It's always been a case of looking at it then putting it safely back on the shelf though.

I'm not averse to getting Dark Side books. I own Blood and Black Lace, Seduction of the Gullible and The Art of the Nasty. It's just that i'm not sure what they can add to what is an already exhaustive library on Hammer.

I have the Nasty book, that one did fall apart but i managed to get a replacement hardback version.

I think it depends wether you read the darkside regularly, because they do have a habit of recycling past articles, which could make the book a bit redundant.
If it's all new material then thats another story as i do like the way they set out and illustrate their articles.

What i mean is what do Bryce, Meickle and co know that official Hammer biographer Marcus Hearn doesn't?

If you haven't bought all the recentish Hammer books below then i'm sure this will be a good read.

I'm still sorely tempted by it even though i'm sort of arguing against it. I think i'm trying to justify not buying it to myself.
