This is one of the problems i have with Allan Bryce and his publications, they are so unreliable. There is no way i would ever subscribe to any of them as they keep dropping out of circulation, appearing again two years later, very poor unfortunately.

If running two mags is an issue then why do it? I would guess the same people buy both mags, amalgamating the two would surely be the answer.

I liked DVD World as it covered all cult titles from horror to BFI releases, it was a shame it had to waste twenty pages at the back with soft porn reviews.

As regards to DVDWORLD
you say soft porn reviews, well they're hard core reviews with jokes of course and soft porn pics, you won't get top shelf stuff
VIDEO WORLD showed more nudity!

DARK SIDE is back on track and I hope it stays that way
shame about DVDWORLD as it covered not just the mainstream labels and films

However you want to put it, it still ruined the mag.

Despite having some sexy porn stars on show and interviewed, I honestly would like all the mag with horror/cult etc dvd/blu ray reviews/more censorship stuff like John Martin 's cutting moments etc.
but the mag is finished....I think

I think the new DS is by far the best issue since the relaunch.

Glad to see some of the blandness of the new layouts has been addressed ( without resorting to white text on a yellow background or whatever ) and there are some excellent interviews here. Nice to see the mag again.

I had a letter published in DVD WORLD too, on the subject of Penelope Spheeris 1987 classic, Dudes...the Headline was Feel Lucky, Punk.........I hope the mag hasnt folded, Yes the Porn stuff was a hinderance, and when the format changed to add Technology reviews i disliked it, until they changed it back. They were always having Publisher issues too, But i loved the mag and still have every issue

The problem allan bryce's publications have is lack of broader readership. DS and dvd world were more labors of love than anything, which is why uk horror fans need to support these publications more! Otherwise all we will have is imported editions of fangoria.

As much as I liked DS for MANY years I can't help but feel that it has been replaced in many ways by sites like this forum. The knowledge base here is much larger and superlative, the fast interactive nature of an online forum is unbeatable. Don't get me wrong, I will buy and support the mag BUT I fear it's shelf life is limited. It just can't compete with the online world.

Sometimes i prefer to read mags etc for simple reason you can read it when sat on toilet in car plane work and many other places where it not so simple to whip out a laptop and read a certain article..
