That Gary Barlow takedown is hysterical.

i rediscovered these two today behind a wardrobe whilst spring cleaning.

The Tomb Raider / Witchblade art is 3D although you can't tell by the images and is signed by Michael Turner and the large Tomb Raider framed art is signed by Joe Jusko.

After only 36 issues, moral panic ensued, and the copy of 'Action' comic dated October 23rd, 1976 was pulled from circulation due to it's "uber-violent" nature and it's "re-worked of the basic plots of books and films intended for adults into gritty stories for kids"

The comic would later return, toned down and combined with "Battle" comic

It later became Battle Action Force.

I used to have them all.

Absolutely loved the exploits of Baron Ironblood, the Black Major and their Red Shadows. I did think it wasn't as good when Action Force morphed into G.I. Joe.

Man, a steal! Rare original Superman comic sells for record $4.26m

Indigenous illustrator of new Marvel comic inspires hundreds
Indigenous illustrator Kyle Charles says hundreds of people have reached out to congratulate and thank him for his creations in a new Marvel anthology that tells the story of an Aboriginal mutant.
One of the few copies of the comic book that introduced Superman to the world has sold for a super-sized, record-setting price.

The issue of Action Comics #1 went for US$3.25 million (NZ$4.6 million) in a private sale, ComicConnect.com, an online auction and consignment company, announced Tuesday (local time).

It narrowly bested the previous record for the comic, set in the auction of another copy in 2014 for slightly over US$3.2 million.

The comic, published in 1938, “really is the beginning of the superhero genre," said ComicConnect.com COO Vincent Zurzolo, who brokered the sale.

It told readers about the origins of Superman, how he came to Earth from another planet and went by Clark Kent.

The seller of this particular issue bought the comic in 2018 for slightly more than US$2 million (NZ$2.8 million).

Zurzolo said that while there were hundreds of thousands of copies initially published, it's estimated only about 100 exist today, and in varying conditions. He said this copy is among the best-kept ones.

“There’s no comic book that you could value higher in terms of a comic book than Action Comics #1," he said.
