This, along with 8mm is one of the most underrated films of the 90's.

Coming this September.

Quote:
Deep in the woods of Maine, there is a dark state facility where kids, abducted from across the United States, are incarcerated. In the Institute they are subjected to a series of tests and procedures meant to combine their exceptional gifts - telepathy, telekinesis - for concentrated effect.

Luke Ellis is the latest recruit. He's just a regular 12-year-old, except he's not just smart, he's super-smart. And he has another gift which the Institute wants to use...

Far away in a small town in South Carolina, former cop Tim Jamieson has taken a job working for the local Sherriff. He's basically just walking the beat. But he's about to take on the biggest case of his career.

Back in the Institute's downtrodden playground and corridors where posters advertise 'just another day in paradise', Luke, his friend Kalisha and the other kids are in no doubt that they are prisoners, not guests. And there is no hope of escape.

But great events can turn on small hinges and Luke is about to team up with a new, even younger recruit, Avery Dixon, whose ability to read minds is off the scale. While the Institute may want to harness their powers for covert ends, the combined intelligence of Luke and Avery is beyond anything that even those who run the experiments - even the infamous Mrs Sigsby - suspect.

Thrilling, suspenseful, heartbreaking, THE INSTITUTE is a stunning novel of childhood betrayed and hope regained.
To be honest, it doesn't sound up my street.

Is till haven't read my Sleeping Beauties hardback yet.

A King book isn't something i'd ever preorder as it's readily available in all supermarkets and besides i'd want to inspect each and every dust jacket for the slightest blemish before i bought it.

I don't think I'd ever be worried about a Stephen King dust cover I only pre-order it because you can get it for a tenner and it wont weigh down my shopping.

Well that's the major spoiler/plot twist for the new Pet Semetary film ruined for me then. I've been deliberately avoiding the trailers and anything to do with the film for those reasons, but somebody still had to upload a clip of it to YouTube, with the thumbnail and the video title ruining it. Typical.

If you still don't know what happens, try and avoid Furious Trailer like the plague. I'm so angry right now. I wasn't even looking for it, it just came up on my recommended videos.

Sleeping Beauties is no the best. Just a big epic social justice warrior pile a tripe with too many characters that you won't give a fu*k about.

I've been a SK fan since I was about 10, got everything he's ever written, but fu*k me has he went to absolute shite over the last 10 or 15 years.

Have you read The Outsider? It's actually ok but it's got that horrible Holly Gibney character in it.

Another thing I've noticed that he does all the time now, is he he tries to shoe horn in some sort of pop culture reference in a desperate attempt to try and show folk he knows what's going on and what the kids are in to.

Also all his dialogue for kids and teenagers is so dated. The guys about 70 so I don't expect him to know what a 15 year old American lassie talks like but all his young characters speak like the kids from IT in the 50s.

As for the new Pet Sematary I was assuming it would just be the exact same. If Zelda's not in it, then it can get itself tae fu*k.

It actually looks like it be decent if it wasn't for daft evil children running about in masks. Also the trailer looks like it's not just the person that's buried that comes back.

Wonder what SK book they'll remake next. Would like to see a proper version of the Stand, but there are a few that should have been left alone.

I honestly don't know if i've read Pet Sematary. I think i have a hardback of it but can't be 100%.

I did notice a new paperback version today with a cover i liked. Is it a good read or not? I did enjoy rediscovering The Shining last October so thought i'd do the same with this novel.

£3.99 isn't a bad price for a classic King novel. Here's the cover.
