Totally agree.

I can understand the minimalistic approach for the image, but I don't think the font used for the title fits with it.... kind of out of place...

Not a great deal of love for the artwork over on the Shameless page on Facebook, I think they're wise to use minimal artwork so as to not kick up a fuss with the cretins at the D***y M**l and other worthless tabloid rags

I hate it (the artwork), from an art /aesthetic point of view I like it, though cannot understand why Shameless go for "arty" with this & tacky for Fulci's brilliant Don't Torture a Duckling, if Shameless want to increase sales of titles by the exploitative route then why go with this art?, the Fulci film on the other hand is made to look like a soft porn Joe D'Amato DTV film from the 80's, you should capitalize on the film's notoriety and BLAST it on the cover - BANNED IN 792 COUNTRIES! (that IMO would gain more sales to the general "punter") :)

You misunderstand what I'm saying Reaps' It's not about the reverse sleeve THIS is what we have and it's not playing on the notoriety of the title, If Shameless wanna sell go for tits n ass (as they have done before), It has been passed by the BBFC...so go ALL OUT with an exploitative cover, this cover is what I would expect from the likes of BFI...what happened to WHORE ABOARD? (although I hated those tag-lines) go for it! then give the fans a more "tastefull" cover.
Shameless/Arrow have really come on,I would love if they could take over from NOShame (whom they seem to emulate) Classy Euro label?...oh yes!

I don't have a problem with the minimalist style, though I think the image posted by Beyond 72 on the first page of this thread looks better.

I agree and Panel A certainly isn't a bad cover, just a bit bland imo. Here's hoping Panel B will be an improvement.:)

Never been my favourite artwork, but that looks amazing with the classic shameless cover design! :cool:

A definite improvement imo and whereas i like the concept of this vintage VHS image the actual quality of the artwork never impressed me. But the illustration in question does indeed look better set against that deliciously distinctive Shameless border. Panel B wins for me!:)

From a simple design point of view, I'm not keen at all. The green and red is an ugly colour clash, and the vertical image just doesn't work with the horizontal font. The Suspiria poster did it so much better!

I have to admit it guys and gals, but this is much better. Great work Slippery Jack. Come on Shameless, take note!

I would like a dark themed artwork tho.
Something like a black and white background and the shot of the woman in colour.
Maybe have a embossed slipcase where the woman on the stick is shiny or something :lol:

Great choice, really exploitative and a fine alternative to the more minimalist and classy new artwork.

The classic design. A no brainer really.

I do prefer the new artwork though.

Much better. Would've been even better with the blood red title font from panel A istead of that boring white text. But yeah, that's the side I'll be going with for sure . . .

Good stuff, better than side A but the title font is quite dull.

To be blunt: I'm a bit disappointed. Both covers are ok, but they're no stunners. Come on, Shameless - this would have been THE release to paint the town red. Alright, you could argue that with Cannibal Holocaust, the title is already obvious enough - but I would have liked something outrageously evil-looking. :nod:

Wow, great new cover, I kinda like the white font, very different look. Think it's really the A cover, it would stand out on the horror shelves much more than the other, if it was me this would be the release cover. Good job anyway. Roll on September, jeez not long now.

I like both panels, but do prefer Panel B.

It's the same cover-art as on my EC Ultrabit release, and I've always regarded it as one of the better CH covers.

To me, Panel B IS Cannibal Holocaust. It's the same cover as my Nan's old VHS version, so for me, it's a winner

Yeah man, I mentioned it somewhere on here before, but my Nan was a massive horror buff. Had a bunch of pre-cert horrors (and quite a few from the DPP list) plus loads of stuff that's never seen the light of day on UK DVD. We used to watch them after she went to bed!

Unfortunately, when she passed on they all got destroyed :(. My Grandad had no interest in horror movies and we were too young to be considered giving them to, so I believe they all ended up down the dump for some lucky binman to find!

Awful artwork, as it ever was, but it looks oddly OK in the "Shameless frame".

Good work, SJ and while i'm happy with panel B, the above design should be a contender to replace panel A imo. More striking i reckon and the use of diagonal lettering is a nice touch too.:)

I actually prefer it with the muted green. It makes the bright yellow border pop. Plus the red and black colour scheme doesn't fit the bright yellow as well as the green. Love the old Go video cover for panel two though.

Yeah, looking at it again, I feel less hateful towards the original green, though I don't think the character stands out enough from it. It's mainly the composition that doesn't look right.
