November 5th, 1956 - The 1939 MGM film 'The Wizard of Oz' received it's American television premier, being screened by the CBS network between 9:00pm - 11:00pm

Not so much for the film, more for the disclaimer in the bottom right hand corner:

"This is a film for the whole family. If you are under 14 you can still come on your own, but ask your parents first"

I don't think i know this film. Like the publicity art though. Looks like Olive or someone released it on a combi pack. I've added it to my wishlist.

I knew she'd been in other stuff, but i'm not really familiar with Gloria's work.
The publicity work doesn't have a lot to do with the actual film, except there's a hammer as a murder weapon.

Watched an ok doc on Sky Arts called 24 × 36.
It's about movie poster art and artists ... but sadly a large chunk of it is devoted to the newer trend of 'Mondo' one sheets. Some nice imagery certainly (the 'new' Vertigo' especially)
... but would have preferred more focus on the earlier material .
Aside from the hipsters ( and they are hipsters soz ) it's worth a look for one chap in particular .
