I loved it in a 'so bad it's good' kind of way... . It has been a while since I saw it though, so my opinion may of changed... I do seem to like all things Naschy, and would love to see this get a UK DVD release!

It really surprised me, especially after John Martin slated it as "the worst of the nasties" in Seduction Of The Gullible. I thought it was a nice little stylish, atmospheric stalk'n'slash flick.

Yes it's an appalling film but entertaining in a ridiculously silly kind of way. It would easily pass uncut now. The problem nasties for the BBFC today would be the Cannibal & Nazisploitation films, Faces Of Death, House On The Edge Of The Park, I Spit On Your Grave, Island Of Death and possibly Don't Go In The House (borderline title).

Incidentally I quite enjoyed Unhinged too though it's awfully slow in parts.

I'd love to see a company try to re-submit this, if only to see what the outcome is...

Agree on Unhinged. When I first saw it, it bored me senseless but I watched it again recently and enjoyed it a lot more. It is fairly slow, but there is a nice tinge of menace and dementia to the proceedings that I didn't really appreciate before.

All the cinema/video cuts were to the opening murder. I think it would narrowly pass intact but it would be a very close call.

Not a nasty but the similar Maniac should pass uncut today.

Yeah I think Don't Go In the House would just scrape through today. Once the killer enters the room all frontal nudity is deliberately masked in one way or the other. The shot alone of the woman being burnt alive really shouldn't be a big deal today. I think its the sounds of her screams more than anything that makes the scene so unsettling because the dummy being used replace the actress a split second before she is hit with the flames wasn't really that convincing. Certainly the BBFC have not made cuts to shots of women being burnt alive in the last 10 years. And because this is the only really violent scene in the film I think they would let it go.

There are quite a few I haven't seen yet. I'm not in that much of a rush to see them all. I've been disappointed by some of the ones I have seen. Maybe it's a sign of the times. Here's my list anyway.

Anthropophagous The Beast
Blood Rites
Delirium
Exposé
Evilspeak
Fight For Your Life
Forest Of Fear
Frozen Scream
Human Experiments
I Miss You, Hugs And Kisses
Late Night Trains
Love Camp 7
Mardi Gras Massacre
Nightmare Maker
Night Of The Bloody Apes
Possession
Pranks
Revenge Of The Bogyman
Terror Eyes
The Beast In Heat
The Gestapo's Last Orgy
The Slayer
The Werewolf And The Yeti
Women Behind Bars

A lot of that is down to the anamorphic transfer though I think. I have the full frame DVD and you see quite a lot of full frontal nudity.
Sometimes....Anamorphic sucks!
