The documentary was the reason i bought the first nasties set.

Hope they come up with something equally as good for this one.

Losing Emily Booth would be a start.

Her introductions to her trailers were the thing of nightmares. Reading off cards, clearly not knowing much about the films she was introducing at all. She seemed so amateurish compared to the other introducers, Newman, Bryce etc.

I do agree with you to some extent, although it wasn't her introduction style that I was interested in.

Missing the point a bit though.

The box headline says - The video nasties critically reviewed and appraised.

Hey, I got my fix of critiquing from Newman and Thrower.

Plus, it is 'The Definitive Guide'. The lack of Emmy would automatically null and void its 'Definitive' status!

Agreed a millionfold! A little frustrating the films she introduced were denied a quality informed appraisal . . .

As somebody who lived through the 'Golden Age' of video, I don't think I'll ever tire of the 'nasties phenomenon'. As a Scot, I didn't suffer as much as those down south, and built up a collection while reading of raids in London and Manchester. The ludicrously authoritarian result of this pernicious garbage meant that ,in the early 90s, I was introduced to films like Bloodsucking Freaks and The Gore Gore Girlsvia dodgy copies, rather than being able to buy them legally. One writer, talking about Bloodsucking Freaks on Channel 4, made the astonishing assertion that the nude girls were wearing body stockings ! He must have watched a naff bootleg as well.
