I can't really think of anyone else to present it but, if Emily Booth does present it again, I hope she is given time to learn her lines or have the cue card put just below the camera so, if she needs prompting, she doesn't need to look away off to the side.

It wasn't so much the presenting, more her obvious lack of knowledge of the titles she was supposed to be talking about before the films trailer.

When you saw how Alan Jones, Calum, Kim Newman etc talked about the films, with their knowledge and obvious love for the subject, it stood out like a very sore thumb.

I love the set though. 14 hours of nostalgic heaven

I know what you're saying, but there has to be a difference between the presenter and an interviewee -- it would look peculiar if Xavier Mendik was both the presenter and an expert interviewee (even though he could do both jobs equally well).

I like a bit of Emmy.

She is a big horror film junky apparently, I think she just had an auto-cue for presenting the necessary info in the required way.

Although I mentioned that when I first saw the doc, I told Emily on Twitter that I did like the scene of her putting the videotape in the VCR, she knew exactly what I meant, the 'arse shot' as she so elequently put it.

it wasn't the documentary i was meaning.
Each of the listed films had a trailer and was spoken about by one individual.
(see pic)

When Ms Booth did her pieces it came off as amateurish, when compared to people like Stephen Thrower.

I thought she was really good in Evil Aliens and, if you read her Twitter feed, she is always talking about horror films and preparing for things she is due to present on the horror channel.

Great news about the follow-up 'Video Nasties' volume on the way despite the fact yours truly has yet to view his copy of the initial edition!

No doubt Nucleus Films will do another spectacular job the second time around so it'll be the customary two copies for me.

Personally, i've no problem either with the ethereal Emily Booth but each to their own.

Ooh looking forward to this.

Emily Booth has a certain charm, but she does come off as lacking in knowledge when compared to some of the other interviewees, especially when she was talking about the films themselves. She'd be much better if she learnt her script and appeared more natural, as seeing her read from the auto-cue made it quite uncomfortable to watch.

I imagine if you put most people, even hardened horror fans, in the company of Kim Newman, Steven Thrower, Alan Jones etc they would also appear to be a little dim on the subject of video nasties!
