No masterpiece by any means. Some gore and a bizarre ending, but certainly not amongst the best of the nasties.

Cool, I just had a quick look and they've got it on sendit.com but it's ?12.89. If it's not that good I might have to have a look on ebay, see if I can pick it up cheaper. Cheers guys.

Haven't seen the film myself as yet. John Martyn in The Seduction of the Gullible describes it as being abysmal. |

Anyone got that 'Anthropophagus' SE 2-Disc set? I saw it on ebay last week, dying to get a copy of that. I've only got it on a cheap German release from a while back, it's fully uncut but it's a pretty bad transfer and some of the scenes have only got Italian dialogue with no sub-titles It's quite a crappy release but at least it's uncut, far better than that atrocity released by Hollywood DVD as 'The Grim Reaper'.

You've missed nothing, Angel. The body count is low (about 4 and one of those is off-screen) and it takes AGES to start. Good machete murder but the ending is a matter of credibility (or lack of). A fiver on Play by the way (though out of stock at the moment). That's about 4.50 too much. |

The only thing I preferred about the Hollywood dvd of Anthro was the far superior score. Have to say I found the score in the original version a bit dead. It's a film that I rate quite highly though.

Yes it's not a bad film at all. The uncut version could well do with a UK release. I much preferred Anthro to Absurd. |

I thought Absurd started and finished well but it dies a death in the middle section of the film.
