Wow, thanks very much, Vince. As you may know I was going to email the BBFC on Justine. I look forward to their reply. Yes things have been getting a little bit confusing recently in regards to their passing sex works which contain real sex in an 18. I'm quite eager to hear what they have to say just to clear this up once and for all.

I remember Marc Morris saying that if he had submitted it as a comedy the bbfc old him they would cut it, so he submitted it as an arthouse drama instead.

How do you submit a film as an art house drama. Do you tell the BBFC this an art house drama? And what happens if the BBFC don't agree?

Ok, thanks. Interestingly the BBFC have placed the film in the adult genre not the drama or art house genre. So as far as they were concened it was in fact porn not art house. But they still passed it uncut.

It is a strange decision. The xxx is very brief though, I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Quite possibly, Loops. We'll know for sure when the BBFC get back to Vince.

No worries Angel. Will let you know their reply.

I didn't know you were going to ask about Justine. I only saw it recently but ever since Caligula I've been curious about their policy regarding real sex in non-contextual, non-R18 rated titles. Especially as Justine is listed in the ADULT category.

I've also asked the BBFC the same question.

Thanks for this link - I knew about the sbbfc site but had never had a poke around. Some really interesting information in some of the case studies - well worth a read.
