That's exactly it, remember reading an interview with Ferman in the mid-90s, may have been in 'Shock Express'. The film's content wouldn't even push the boundaries of a '12' these days, to be honest.

'Eagerly awaiting' Angel? I'm surprised I'll be interested to see it aswell, although, the only thing MSP had going for it was the gore effects. They were done by Fred Vogel and Jeramie Cruise from Toetag though, and whether you like Vogel's work or not you've gotta admit him and cruise are artists when it comes to gore, they've done some of the sickest, most realistic effects I've ever seen. Impressive comsidering the budgets they must work with. Let's see if Palumbo's improved at all as personally I think he's pretty talentless as a director.

With MSP already banned in several countries I'm curious to see if he will show some restraint this time or will he again go for the jugular.
I think some directors (the talentless ones that is) thrive on controversy to help sell their films.

Nicky boy wouldn't show any restraint Angel, he's a talentless hack who needs the controversy to sell his films.

Nutbag looked like Palumbo got a bunch of his mates round and decided to make a splatter filck on the family's cam coarder .
MSP is in a way similar to Nutbag , but with a few bucks behind it , but even with a few bucks to play a bout with he still couldn't manage to make a half decent film.

IMO, Palumbo has'nt got it in him to make a good film and he knows it.

Talking about Rejections - I wonder if we will ever see a film rejection again.
Last film rejection was Last House on the Left some years ago.
The BBFCs attitude to Hammer films throughout the 50s/60s was disgraceful. Most of the snotty examiners could not separate their personal opinions from their work. One female examiner (forgot her name but it's in the Hammer Bray book) was particularly bias against the studios output.Lord knows what she would think now if she had to examine the likes of Murder Set Pieces & Sex Lives Of The Potato Men .

I picked up a couple of old Darksides & noticed his letter in one issue.Even Brad Stevens was in his corner but the fact of the matter is the film is not that good or particularly shocking.I found the uncut rape sequence in Death Wish 2 more disturbing than anything here.In fact the excellent Citizen X was more disturbing without resorting to any particularly graphic sequences & even the footage cut for the UK would be restored now.

The rape scene in Death Wish II is just ghastly. Almost like Winner's attempt at a porn movie. It seemed like he took all the restraint from the brilliant original film and reversed it for the sequel.

You know,i've never seen an uncut death wish 2,but paul(companero) has linked to a site selling an uncut release. I really must get round to ordering it to see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, Last House on the Left is definatley up there. How many releases and submissions has it taken for us to FINALLY get an uncut release I wonder if the same will ever happen for I Spit on Your Grave?

Last House was rejected by the BBFC 3 times. In 1974 (for cinema), in 2000 (again for cinema), and in 2001 (for video/DVD). The last rejection was due to the distributors refusing to make the 16 secs of required cuts. They ended up taking the BBFC on in court and lost badly. As a result it was finally passed the following year with an additional 15 secs of cuts on top of the original ones.

The BBFC never saw I Spit On Your Grave until 2001. If it had been submitted beforehand (during the Ferman years) it would have been rejected without hesitation. Especially considering that he was rejecting far less violent films such as Curfew etc.
