Christmas Comp #16 - Phantom Of Death & Venus In Furs - FINISHED

Hi everyone,

Up for grabs today is two releases from Shameless' back catalogue. Here's what one lucky winner could get their hands on...

From the writing team behind the vicious ‘n' delicious New York Ripper and Ruggero Deodato, the director of the hunger-inducing Cannibal Holocaust, comes this star filled frenzy of brutal vengeance.

Michael York (Austin Powers) stars as piano virtuoso Robert Dominici who suddenly contracts a devastating disease that ages him rapidly. With death closing in fast a decaying Robert abandons tinkling the ivories to instead embark on an arpeggio of vicious slaughter upon anyone who finds out about his impending gruesome fate!

Closing in fast to try and end this crescendo of violence is Police Inspector Datti, played by the seasoned psychopath chasing Donald Pleasence (Halloween). Will he solve this mystery? Not before you've enjoyed a long and lingering symphony of superbly gory set pieces!

PHANTOM OF DEATH (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (£12.99) by Shameless Screen Entertainment on 1st October 2007. The film will be presented remastered in 1.85:1 with English 2.0 sound. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery.

AND

This is the definitive film adaptation of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s infamous novel of perversion and pain. Most importantly though it stars the astonishing Laura Antonelli, naked and fired up for action!

Regis Vallee plays the Peeping Tom obsessive Severin who craves to be punished and humiliated due to being caught as a child spying on a naked woman in furs. Seeing Wanda (Antonelli) writhing in fur reawakens his twisted desires but in turning her into his dominant Venus he soon opens up a world of cruel sexual enslavement that will push him to the edge of sanity.

A powerful descent into sadomasochistic degradation this beautifully cruel study of sexual submission is an erotic delight to be savoured over and over again…

Venus in Furs (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (£12.99) by Shameless Screen Entertainment on 31st December 2007. The film will be presented remastered in 2.35:1 with English 2.0 sound. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery.

---------------

To Win both DVDs....

Below you'll find a series of songs from films. They're very well known but I've messed around with them and produced something that sounds...well, rather evil on the whole!

All you have to do is figure out what the songs are. Once you think you know, PM (Private Message) me your answers. Each one you get correct, you'll be entered into the random draw tomorrow.

Slightly trickier today ;)

1)

2)

3)

4) This is rather terrifying...

5)

For your entry to count you must name both the title of the song and the film it's from.

Good Luck,

Kyle

Yes. None of them do anything when I hit play and if I try to open them in Youtube (sometimes it works for situations like this) it tells me the video is private.

It's a trick question - all the songs are one in the same - 4'33 by John Cage. I win  . . .

Rik 16th December 2012 06:00 PM

I wonder who's gonna win this, Derren Brown maybe ;)

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 16th December 2012 06:23 PM

Damn it Youtube!

Okay - problem's fixed now. Apologises for the delay. I'll extend this competition to end on Tuedsay (with another competition tomorrow as planned too).

Hawkmonger 16th December 2012 07:04 PM

This is actualy stummping me...might have a few idea's but not sure...

porcupine 16th December 2012 07:13 PM

Number 4 is driving me up the wall.... I want to keep listening to it to work it out, but I'm worried that repeated exposure to this piece will turn me into some kind of crazy person....

Hasn't repeated exposure to this site already done that?

porcupine 16th December 2012 07:18 PM

I think I've worked them all out - loads of fun this one :D

trouserpress 16th December 2012 08:49 PM

Thanks for extending this one. It'll give me a chance to try it tomorrow. I don't have either of these so would love to win one or the other.

Susan Foreman 16th December 2012 08:51 PM

So the jovial post I was going to make, about it being the soundtrack to 'Marcel Marceau - The Movie', directed by Sam Raimi, produced by Michael Bay and starring Bruce Campbell is going to be redundant now!

trouserpress 18th December 2012 11:46 AM

Wow. Number 4 is a bitch. Got the rest though, hopefully...

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 18th December 2012 02:55 PM

Time's up!

Well done to those who got any of these right  It was a toughie!]

Anyways, the correct answers were...

1) What's This - Nightmare Before Christmas

2) Somewhere Over The Rainbow - The Wizard Of Oz

3) Everybody Needs Somebody - The Blues Brothers

4) Walking In The Air - The Snowman!

5) Dance Magic Dance - Labyrinth

And the randomly selected winner is....
