There was a sshop back in the 90's called, 'F' . The proper name was '****' but the council forced him to change it. It was a gold mine for all sorts of films, from Mondo to Euro films to 'Nasties' Trench, you knew him I think, ' Ritchie ' the English bloke. He got me 2 audio tapes, 1 I still have. The actual full tape recording of the Jones Town mass suicide, (grim listening) and a smuggled interview with Charles Manson, including him singing self penned songs and some metal band covering 1 or 2 of them. I got the Jones Town one nicked but i've still the Manson cassette , cost me a tenner for both back then.(early 90's) |

I know Ritchie alright. I used to hang about in his shop when he was located in the In-Shops, then he relocated to round by Delaneys as I remember. He was a goldmine alright, he did a good line in t-shirts as well. I remember he was asked to provide visuals for a Thursday night event round at the Art College, and needless to say at the end of it he was asked to leave and to never come back! Do you remember the other guy used to work there Vips? A big fella called Andy? He was a good mate of mine back then, but I haven't seen him for years. Haven't seen Ritchie either right enough. |

Thats right. He done The Network for a while as well , every 4th Sat at Sleuth nite with Chris Cargo. I dont think I knew Andy, I cant place him, mind it was a while ago. Ritchies girl came in the odd time. though. His shop was brilliant though. I spent hours in there. He closed as a guy came in with a handgun in a sports bag demanding protection money , and even though he was told by police that neither side collected from the city center, he did'nt wanna risk it as he said the dude was crazy looking. That was when he was outside the instores, beside the tool shop. When he left us (network, I worked there) he went to the Ministery of Sound then to the BBC, last I heard.
