I've always found The Blood Beast Terror and Curse of the Crimson Altar, a bit on the dull side.Apparently, Peter Cushing regarded The Blood Beast Terror as one of his worst films.
Blood beast terror is a dreadful movie. But at the same time its sort of fun. Cushing did indeed disown the movie entirely.

I'm looking forward to giving it another viewing (this time in HD) when my Redemption Blu-ray arrives!

As am I, and hell, I have the Tigon coffin box-set which has at least one film that was worse on it!

I thought it was pretty good, and Cushing is excellent in it, as always. I like the scenes where the youngsters put on their own play of Frankenstein.

It's one of those movies that overcomes its limitations to be fairly entertaining. It's in no way a GOOD movie, but its certainly a fun one and I think cushing fans will probably enjoy it.

I've been wanting to see this after reading about it at the British Horror website, and after checking out the blurb on the DVD, I have to say it sounds, er, mental, quite frankly. Looking forward to sitting down and watching it.
I absolutely love this film. It's mental. Anthony Balch was a fascinating guy. IQ Hunter did a paper on this film at Cine Excess two years ago. I've lectured on it myself at Brunel Uni to MA students. I also wrote about it for Cinema Retro. Norman J Warren worked on both Towers Open Fire and The Cut Ups with Balch. They are seriously trippy little films, and make this package an essential purchase I think.

There are some really good deals on Odeon Best Of British titles on Amazon at the moment - mainly from the Thrillers, Crime, and Drama collections. They are around the £2.30 mark (+p&p). I have picked up about a dozen or so myself.

Is this any different to Odeon's previous release?
