Looking forward to the new season of this. But the show hasn’t been the same without him, if you ask me.

Never noticed the fifth housemate in The Young Ones. Though, looking at the pictures, he / she looks kind of creepy!

Guest House Paradiso

Annual visit to the worst hotel since the Overlook
Our demented duo battle the guests, the staff and each other in this slightly patchy effort.
Still hilarious for all that. "Candle ... in the eye!!!!" etc.

The ITV series (RM Presents ...) is going cheap in the Network sale, so may finally get it ahem.

Rewatching the first Bottom Live (1993)

"Had away and the shite!!"
Our depeleted duo find their world in a spin when the postman brings an important missive ....
Sliiightly more wordy than the ones that followed it, this is still very silly.

I saw that live on stage at the Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday, 25th May, 1993

I can honestly say that it was the funniest thing I have ever seen, and I was laughing my head off from start to finish

A few week after I saw it, my cousin saw the show in Southampton...which was the one that they filmed

Lets just say that when it was first released, the live video was edited...

I can't remember what was removed, but I do remember that there were a number of hilarious jokes and situation that I saw on the stage that were missing from the recording

Not a hope people are too sensitive these days.

Although it's been a long time since I saw it (I sadly no longer have the video and surprisingly don't have DVD), I can't think of anything which would mean they weren't performing in front of sell-out crowds or, if it the DVD was re-released, would be cut by the BBFC.

There's nothing in Bottom which would be considered more offensive than Ricky Gervais or Frankie Boyle. It's not as if they were 'blacking up' or ridiculing minorities in a racist or homophobic way – it's crude slapstick humour.
