Context. In this genre it towers above much imo. As a film it is singular. See Varrick then. That is more conventional in nature.

Badge 373 (Howard W Koch) Decent enough flick with the Duvall and the Verna Bloom and that. After a accidental death he is blamed for, a cop tries to get to the bottom of his partners seemingly random demise. Very 70s. The language now would have the service providers' panties in a bunch. No race is spared etc. Befits the period THOUGH, as that's the world we grew up in ahem.
