The lesser of two evils I think. The American blu-ray is region friendly whereas the Italian blu-ray is region B locked and both releases are fairly cheap to import.
Personally im not that bothered about cuts for animal cruelty (yes that's right im PC lefty come to make your life a misery, especially Boo's ) id rather have a good uk blu release. But for now ill import it, now where's my copy of Socialist Worker?

If the editing is done well, I'm not too bothered about horse falls being cut because I don't need to see a horse's legs been taken or it face planting in order to enjoy a chase sequence or the film in its entirety.

Indeed, its only annoying if like you said the editing is hopeless, I would only gain satisfaction if when humans ran in films they were taken out and tripped up in the same way.

I saw an NFL player being interviewed and wearing this T-shirt, which one of his teammates had given him. I thought was quite funny.

BBFC cuts for horse tripping or other animal cruelty make moral sense but I'd rather have an uncut version of any film. Especially if it happens to be directed by Sergio Leone. He's one of my favourite directors and I want the full-length cut, no censorship.

I very much dislike animal cruelty in movies, but I still feel the original cut should always be available. To really study a movie the original intent of the filmmaker should be shown. Even though for my enjoyment I often prefer movies without the animal cruelty I still want to see the original first.

I have to say that i think Once upon a time in america is a better gangster film than the Godfather which i feel is overated and boring.

i tried too watch the Godfather twice but found it a chore to get through. it just drags on with people mumbling away too much. Once upon a time is long as well but it flows better and has more interesting things going on.

I love both films and find it interesting that you find one long and boring and the other to be brilliant – I think they are equally great movies.
