It doesn't look awful but they have scrubbed out all of the grain, the German one looks much better.

I don't mind the degraining so much compared to the horizontally stretched aspect ratio. Faces look pretty weird in this release! Something's gone a bit wrong with the 1.78:1 ratio which was bloomin' odd considering that the sleeve specs clearly state 1.66:1 . I couldn't help but frown a bit when looking at the face of Kelly Curtis. She should look beautiful but she looks quite strange at times. Not right at all. After the hugely positive reaction to The Church, the Shameless blu-ray of The Sect was a massive disappointment. Sure it looks better than a UK VHS or the horrible Italian dvd but a full-priced UK blu-ray should look a lot better. Especially when coming after a highly praised release.

Now that I'm educated in all things digitally anal,I can see the worthiness of grain.

Yeah I see what SF is saying about the ratio on the Sect....but as I said,,,compared to what's been.....as for that German mediabook,I'd rather pay a tenner for the Shameless disc....I wouldn't pay two quid for a cover like that!

I wonder what would happen if there was a social media campaign and everyone en masse just returned their copies for a refund? I'm beginning to think uk labels should just close and leave things to the germans.

Please note the above post is half in jest. I honestly didn't notice any issues with my copy of the sect but then I don't have the keenest eyes.

i hate grain, it annoys me if the blu has grain i will stick with the dvd,so this looks like a winner 2 me
