"ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK - RELEASE UPDATE

We’re currently in the incantation process, summoning ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK ready for its first ever UK Blu-ray release, and it is looking very nice! But we are having to reschedule the release date for retailers (Amazon, HMV etc.) to 12 June, to ensure this release is as devilishly glorious as it should be!

Rest assured though, if you ordered direct from us the Shameless store will be the first to get the stock and pre-orders will be shipped on 29 May as originally planned."

Nice! What's the transfer like?

Sad to say that I wait for a couple of general reviews / comments from people who aren't card carrying members of the screencap brigade nor the pixel police (i.e. 'normal' film fans) before I'll bite on a Shameless release nowadays.

I've only flicked through. To me it looks and sounds great, a massive improvement over the shriek show dvd hugely so!. A touch more grain than the average italian film, it may upset the people you mentioned across at experts.net/whingers sorry i mean blu ray.com but for me personally it looks a great upgrade. Bearing in mind it's age and rarity.

Sounds good. I'll no doubt order a copy over the weekend.

ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK: Film Review - THE HORROR ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE

"All the Colours of the Dark is a movie that’s far easier to admire than it is to love. Sergio Martino’s camerawork is consistently effective; Bruno Nicolai’s soundtrack is possibly one of the best horror scores of all time; but the lack of coherent plot and believable characters make the film a good example of style over substance. Fans of giallo films will certainly want this in their collection, but for more casual horror fans, you might be better off left in the dark"

I can certainly understand that review, when I first watched the film years ago I was a little confused by the plotting. Hopefully I'll get chance to view the new disc tonight...

Hmm it's still one of the most ludicrous plots in giallo history, that's a huge amount of trouble to go to inherit money. How many people where involved in the plot? Also there's no explanation as to why Barbara sounds like she does part French, part German! How the police would consider her death a suicide is very puzzling too.

The bulk of the film looks okay a bit grainy in parts but I've seen much worse remasters. The very last scene is very, very grainy and an odd colour, it kind of mars an otherwise ok release. Presumably the final scene was from a different source which why it looks kinda odd.
