"Help us crowd-fund a SUSPIRIA dual edition UHD and Blu-ray SteelBook

This is a call to all SUSPIRIA fans - participate in CultFilms' campaign and help us release a limited edition of SUSPIRIA. Here's your chance to get your hands on your very own UHD and Blu-ray numbered dual edition SteelBook of Dario Argento’s horror masterpiece!

As a Shameless customer, we want you to be the first to know when CultFilms' SUSPIRIA crowd-funding campaign goes live on the 30 October! This will give you a chance to take advantage of our limited early bird perk, at a reduced price.

We want to bring the full astonishing cinematic experience to your own home by creating a dual edition containing an Ultra High Definition (UHD) disc and a standard Blu-ray disc. And we want to offer you the possibility of owning this very special dual edition in a beautifully designed and embossed SteelBook. This will be a numbered limited edition and one of the very first times the UHD format will be used for a non-mainstream film.

Sounds interesting, lets hope distributors aren't going to be going all 4KUHD on everything & throwing the inferior blu ray in as an afterthought!

As a side note, can you play UHD blu rays on a regular player or do you literally need to buy a new player. I remember getting a blu ray player in the first place because so many things were "only" coming out on blu ray (especially the extras). Not another format jump so soon!
A nice 4K transfer on a regular blu ray ala Arrow's Thing set would be a better choice for Suspiria fans I think! And money spent on extras instead of a new format I'm sure would be preferred.

Modern Blu-ray players can upscale almost anything to 4K UHD - from potato quality internet clips to 1080p Blu-ray, as long as you own a 4K UHD TV.

4K UHD Blu-rays need their own players, though. It's a new format, and the new devices aren't exactly cheap at the moment.

The crowdfunding is just to get the 4K UHD disc, the regular release will be widely available for the 4K disc is exclusive to the Indiegogo campaign.

And I'm probably not buying any because I got the recent Italian release. It also really winds me up that Cult Films do the title on the spine the wrong way around.

A day in, with a month to go...and it's on 94% (£14,140 raised out of the £15,000 needed)!

It's only a couple of hundred people as well, still at least 300 copies left to sell. They have said that surplus money wont go towards making more copies, it's a limited edition, but will go towards producing more extra features! So good news for everyone really.

Yeah, not really much of a perk paying £30 for a steelbook and not getting anything extra, I might’ve gone for the perk with the shirt for £40 but that went straight away

I managed to get the earlybird perk of the steelbook for £24 which there was 85 available. It did take a while to actually contribute as there was problems trying to process the payment.

Is the standard edition of Suspiria out tomorrow or have I missed something?

According to Amazon it's been pushed back to the 27th of November.

I got an email from HMV this morning to say it's delayed until the 27th November. I don't mind for £14.99 I can happily wait.

I was so tempted to do this too (with The Wages of Fear), but I'd only be getting it for the new interview with Argento. I'm going to hold off until I see whether the colour has been graded differently to the Italian disc I bought earlier in the year.

"Yesterday we hit £30,000 on our Suspiria crowd-funding campaign! So, we will be releasing a UHD and Blu-ray SteelBook of Dario Argento’s masterpiece, packed with extras...AND because this is YOUR Suspiria, a booklet featuring new writing on the film! You asked for a booklet and we will deliver. We’re still getting together an exciting package of extras, and we’ll be announcing our final plans for this release very soon. But in the meantime, let us just say THANK YOU for all your support. It’s been amazing to see the reaction to this campaign and the love for this film.

As far as I can tell, this has now ended, and the total amount raised was £34,165 (219% funded on November 30, 2017)

Because of this, they have said: "if with your support this campaign reaches £25,000 we will make this Limited Edition even more special! We'll add an additional disc of bonus features by filming and editing our own extra features and/or sourcing and reviving long-disappeared iconic documentaries on Dario Argento - and more depending on funding and production budget!"
