Cool nasty nazi flicks

just watched my copy of "she wolf" before posting, very tame by todays "hostel-saw" days...but doubt if U.K. will ever accept those "nasty Nazi" 70s and 80's as just another exploitation phase, imagine the flack in the right-wing press if any company released any of em, real life psycho nut bags in uniform never a good idea for censorious U.K. tastes.

Ilsa would still have a hard time getting through the BBFC. I'm not saying it wouldn't get through uncut, but some of the content is quite offensive and politically incorrect and the treatment of women (and men) in the film is appalling, so I'm not sure how the BBFC would handle it. Still, it'd be an interesting experiment if someone did submit it.

I think the only thing which would trouble the BBFC would be the treatment of women as, fortunately, they don't seem to let 'good taste' cloud their judgement – if they did, D.W. Griffith's Birth of a Nation wouldn't have been granted a certificate!

As you said, it would be interesting to see the BBFC's judgement if someone were to submit Ilsa hoping for an uncut 18 certificate.

I bet the Daily Mail readership would be frothing at their mouths if this was available uncut at HMV etc haha!

But as for the BBFC? Who knows. They did pass Island of Death, Cannibal Holocaust, and many other notorious nasties after all.

I never got the hype for Island of death.
Minus the goat ****ing scene it was very much a typical revenge/ slaughter flick.

It was enjoyable if nothing else. May still pick up the arrow Video DVD in the future.

It's a great dvd release. The special feature of various bands doing a different covers of the remarkably catchy "Destination Understanding" song is an odd but highly enjoyable extra!

Gah! Caught out by an April fools joke. A two year old one at that

I recently picked up the trilogy (have only watch She Wolf so far, though.) and other than the bad taste of the whole thing, I found it pretty tame compared to some more modern movies.

Has anyone tried to pass it through the BBFC recently?
