How does the Grindhouse blu-ray compare? It was locked for me, unfortunately.

It looks better than the images Shameless posted, but like I said a few posts up, it’s not a huge improvement over their DVD IMO

One of the problems i had with the DVD was that it was non-anamorphic.
Got the Sazuma ultrabit, but that was still a bit soft and washed out.

Cannibal Ferox - Umberto Lenzi (Shameless) | Ave Noctum

"...a sadistic piece of cinematic violence and possibly the grossest morality tale ever committed to celluloid." [This appears to be a recommendation!] "Still couple of niggles aside, it’s great to be able to finally see Cannibal Ferox as uncut as possible in the UK along with others within the short lived cannibal genre"

Compared to the Shameless disc, it's in color
It's also bit sharper, and not vertically squeezed.

Edit: Sorry for the gigantic screenshots.

As is explained at the beginning of the film, the Shameless restoration is different to the Grindhouse one, with an emphasis on keeping the look as similar to the film stock as possible.

I thought the AV quality was very good, but the film was extremely difficult to watch as the scenes with the coati seeming very prolonged, with the poor creature – in slow motion – looking absolutely terrified when confronted with the anaconda, and the off-camera squeals and screams horrible to hear.

I've learnt my lesson not to buy anything released by these clowns. It's such a shame that they have the rights to films like Opera, Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, All the Colours of the Dark etc. It's 2018 but they have not learnt how to encode a blu-ray or do proper colour correction yet.

It's the same thing with The Church, where the US disc got a proper color correction.
The Church always had amazing colors, just like most other Italian movies at the time.
So it was shocking to see the Shameless disc, and how it lacked those colors.

They must be colorblind, or they just don't know what color correction is.

Not only they did not do any proper colour correction but their copression is disgusting as well. A very bad label.

i do not think either of those Cannibal feroxs look good. the grindhouse one looks brighter but they both look washed out in colours in my opinion.
