Excuse my cynicism but I follow the likes of 8 Films, Arrow, Eureka etc on twitter and it really pisses me off all these tragic zoomer fanboys who seem more concerned with collecting blu rays and how pretty they look on their shelves than they actually do about the films themselves. Folk sitting with big piles of blu rays they've never got round to watch. Well why are you buying them. I've only ever had They Beyond on that Vipco DVD so I'm probably more entitled than anyone to buy it on blu ray |

Although I personally scratch my head at why anyone would want 23 versions of a single film from multiple labels, if some people want to spend their money on that kind of thing that is up to them. I'm not being asked to pay for the stuff, and neither are you for that matter, so I really can't see your problem. So what if some people are fanboys, they are hardly hurting other people after all?

I can see where John Matrix is coming from although he could have expressed himself a little less tetchier. I think his words ring true in a way. Not regarding how many editions of a film someone has, that matters not, but if he 'follows' a label on social media he may be hoping other followers discuss the film in question rather than tech aspects or indeed artworks. That's me though, i'd prefer to know if the film is good or bad, gory or not, exploitative, scary, whatever, than it's number in a collection. Naturally, if a release is of sub standard quality or missing a sailing yacht then i'd want to know things like that from fellow 'followers'. As for me, i don't even keep my labels together on the shelf. Organized chaos is all the rage round these parts.. |

I didn't say that John Matrix didn't have a point. In terms of people collecting everything that certain labels release that is something that I don't do personally. There is a bloke on one of the other forums, I think he is an American, and he salivates over everything that Code Red release whilst more or less pushing the argument that all other labels release sub-standard products. In my opinion there are some very ropey Code Red releases and labels such as Camera Obscura, Vinegar Sydrome, Arrow and 88 Films blow them out of the water. I agree though that quality should be the most important thing about any release rather than which label releases it or the artwork.
