I'm exactly the same and haven't seen either films so, unless I put them as 'high priority' on my Lovefilm rental queue, may not see them until they are released by Shameless.

amsterdamned is like one of those old t.v movies that you would find on itv in the early 90s on a saturday night. the boat chase was the only highlight.

You guys are lucky you even have a label dedicated to these kind of things.
In Australia we have jack shit.
Australia has a Blu-ray of Wake In Fright.

Thus Australia wins everything!

But that's an Australian film. Look, I'm more talking about American and Eurpoean horror movies, but if you want to go onto the topic of Australian horror films, or even just normal Australian movies, then we'd probably have the best releases.

Also is Wake in Fright any good? Heard it has Donald Pleasence.

I have the Australian DVD and I believe it is the best version to have. I'm quite partial to the film as well and love the cinematography.

Quite possibly (probably?) the best Australian film I've ever seen.

Even though the director is Canadian!

yeah that's it. Although I like these, but they're just "simple" hudunnit, with the police always in the lead. I still think there're so many film which haven't seen an DVD/BD-Release yet that I find it rather sad that the line of interesting releases is (hopefully only temporarily) broken.

shameless must of got these two on the cheap cos i cant understand any other reason for releasing them.
theres an absolute stack of 1970s italian cop films that would make really good releases . in the why dont shameless release section i cant remember anyone asking for these two. so much for listening to customers.

Well (personally speaking) I don't own either, never seen AMSTERDAMNED and don't own HWLW but remember it being one of the craziest gialli I've ever seen so I'm very much looking forward to these releases. More 'exotic' releases will come in time from Shameless, no doubt, so I think we just have to be patient. We are lucky to have them... and as others have said, at least they have stopped re-releasing for the time being!
