I'd always go for the original Italian poster artwork, as that is what it was originally released with, it's nice to have all the new fancy artwork but i think for the B side it should always be the original release artwork that's what i always use when i have the option

Looks like one of those early 90's 'erotic thrillers' that populated video shops in great proliferation. I'll go for the reverse artwork, which will hopefully be something a bit more classy.

I understand that Shameless want to shift as many units as possible and lurid covers undoubtedly facilitate this. But, consider this, if I were a casual punter and picked it up thinking it would be some sleazy epic and discovered that it wasn't, I probably wouldn't buy anymore Shameless titles. So this could work against sales of future titles, couldn't it?

Just making casual observations, I obviously don't work in the industry so I'm not sure about customer demographics and all that. I hope it does well for Shameless, but can't help feeling that the cover is a bit misleading. You can't have a cheap and tacky cover with the tagline 'Fulci's masterpiece', it just doesn't work. I know the cover is aimed at casual shoppers, but that being the case, how many would even know who Fulci is? Makes the tagline a bit redundant if it's aimed at high street shoppers.

I don't think the cover is in any way 'cheap and tacky' and is one of the more stylish Shameless have gone with in recent releases.

Each to their own though!

I disagree. First of all, the cover does not look crude. It's a very decent artwork, containing all the things that I want when I buy a Shameless release. The film heavily contrasts with the cover - so what? I can't think of a whore in Shameless' Night Train Murders - and yet it was advertised on the cover! Maybe some people only bought it because of that, expecting a Soft Porno? Well, that's their fault. And talking about tackiness - Ratman's tagline was a bit 'tasteless', I agree.

But : the artwork may not represent what the film is about - one could argue about that. But it looks like a Shameless cover. And that's the general idea, innit?

Greetings!

You need to watch it again, I'll give you a hint she wears a veil.

While I don't think the Torture cover is that great, it does kinda tie in with why the killer kills.

I'd say she's a sadistic loony.

Well, each to their own. I think it looks a bit thrown together and very amateurish. But that's only my opinion and I'll certainly be picking this up. But I'll be using the reverse artwork.

I did say that lurid covers facilitate sales, so I'm not really knocking Shameless for making what they consider a good marketing decision. I'm just saying that I dislike it, but I'm sure that what's on the disc will be great, so it's no big deal really.
