Checked this with Shameless and it's simply because the reverse art is the French art for the film, so Shameless felt it appropriate to keep the artwork's original title.

...and the A-cover looks terrible to be honest no matter how beautiful Barbara Bouchet is. Apart from BBFC's terror attacks on some of their releases, the artworks is probably Shameless and Arrow's weakest part.

Making a late, late response to this because I'd like to throw in my opinion.

The A-panel is terrible. The Shameless design puts across the wrong impression as to what the films offers. It looks like a bargain bin title, something that would be discretely hidden amongst the tat in Pound Land. Now, I'm aware this is supposed to be sold as a sleazy exploitation flick but personally I believe Fulci's legacy deserves better than that. You want your DVD to sell? This isn't the way to do it.

Thank God the B-panel looks so classy and striking by contrast. Had it not been for that, I probably would of avoided the DVD entirely.

What can I say? I like my giallos to alteast look like giallos when they sit on my shelf. If you remember when Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark was released on Blu-Ray, Lionsgate "Twilightised" the cover, giving the film not half of the respect it deserves.

I don't know about you but that more than put me off buying it, despite how awesome the film may be.

I see where you're coming from - great movies deserve suitable artworks, that's true.

But I really can't imagine a cover being so ugly that it would keep me from buying a specific release. If the movie's great, and the release itself has high quality, I wouldn't be too bothered about the artwork.

As for the Don't Torture a Duckling artwork: I agree that the movie is totally different from what the cover suggests, but I like it nevertheless. How about all the 'crappy' VHS artworks back in the day, promising you gore and sex, and delivering tepid sleeping pills instead? Give me tits and bum any day!

Greetings!

I personally couldn't care less about cover art, it's the contents of the disc that interest me.I recently bought the budget priced BD of Carpenter's classic The Thing and the new cover art for that is horrendous, same disc as before though so I can't complain.

The transfer was absolutely appalling anyway mate, lucky you did avoid it.

Yup. Although I hear the Optimum Release edition over here is an improvement atleast. I'm surprised they stuck with the same cover even so.
