I just finished watching this and really enjoyed it. I loved the middle age setting and, I wasnt overly impressed by my first foray into nunspliotation with Killer Nun, but I was plesantly suprised as Falvia is a really well made film with a great story and some fun exploitation elements. This is my favourite Shamless title so far. |
Flavia was my among my first Shameless purchase, alongside Killer Nun , and I think its a great film. Is it still the top selling single disc release Almar.? |
I think it is amazingly because it's perhaps the heaviest of all the films in terms of content. |
I watched this for the first time last night, and I was also impressed. Clearly, the movie makers weren't out to make a purely exploitative movie. Those elements were remarkably played down. For example the torture of the nun, that Flavia witnesses with her Father is not lingered upon. It could have been much stronger a scene. The final denoument is shied away from. Although, to be fair it would have been a difficult and expensive effect to pull off, pardon the pun.;) |
