You seen his Venice concert, Reaps? It's shown on Sky Arts periodically and can be had on DVD or Blu-ray. It's superb.

While the main theme from Bird and Cat are good, Goblin/Simonetti is by far my favorite.
Favorite Argento scores are (In no order): Deep Red, Suspiria, Tenebre, Opera (That rock theme ) and...... (Shock!) Card Player
Honestly don't see why everyone hates Card Player, i'd probably put in my top 5.
While Morricone's theme arn't my favorite for Argento, his scores for the Dollars trilogy put him as best score composer in my books, a title shared with John Williams

Yeah I've watched his concerts on You Tube-and if he ever came to the UK,I'd pay whatever it took to be in that audience.
Mrs Reaps would be there in a flash too.
She also has a best of cd in her car!

By the looks of the poll result the punters prefer Goblin to accompany their Argento pieces, but this is in no way a reflection on the great Ennio.

I Love Ennio Morricone's work but, when it comes to someone working with Argento, I much prefer Goblin/Claudio Simonetti simply because of the scores for films like Suspiria, Tenebrae and Deep Red.

Goblin for me too, the soundtrack to Deep Red is probably one of the greatest soundtracks I have ever heard.

Morricone is good, no doubt about it, and I do love his work. But can you imagine Suspiria without that soundtrack? An orchestral soundtrack just wouldn't work. And I never really much cared for the Bird soundtrack either as a score in its own right. It suits the film, but as a listening experience on its own it falls a bit flat for me.

Argento and Goblin (Simonetti) form a unified whole.

Deep Red, Tenebrae, and Phenomena are the best pieces of their fruitful collaborations.

Greetings!
