I completely forgot that the Shameless version of NYR was non-anamorphic widescreen. Thank god for the Blue Underground dvd and blu-ray and the upcoming Shameless blu-ray.

That's why I wasn't too keen on the DVD when I first watched it and it took a second viewing for me to ignore the letterboxed transfer and concentrate on the film. I have the Blue Underground Blu-ray which looks so much better and I hope that Shameless can secure an uncut 18 from the BBFC and put out a Blu-ray package with the right amount of extra features, booklet and artwork.

Mine arrived too (not before time!) but Zavvi haven't even shipped my Metropolis BD. The alternate artwork for The New York Ripper is excellent but I haven't read through the booklet yet.

I was talking to the guy who owns Fab Press at 'Grimm Up North' on Halloween, and thankfully an updated version of the Fulci book it comes from should be coming out in 2011. No need to pay the ridiculous prices that online sellers are selling it for now.
