The Dreaded Multiplayer Chat Zone

I know that multiplayer can be a human dumping ground for cheating immature nasty little bastards but there is fun to be found online with friends or just some games that actually have friendly communities yes they do actually exist. I dont usually chat when i play online if ever but you dont need chat to know the good from the bad. Give me single player games any day but i do enjoy a good multiplayer. What are your favourite multiplayer games?

Halo 2 was my first multiplayer experience not the multiplayer experience we have today playing online but the old split screen. Playing four player on a 32 inch old school tv so much fun at the time. Its crazy to think that all you had to do was look at the other side of the screen to see where everyone else was on the map

Haven't really done much multiplayer stuff, but have enjoyed playing nazi zombies on call of duty with other players. Cinema of the dead one is my favourite.:pop2:

The Xbox 360 really saw the shift in multiplayer for console. PS2 and Original had online but is was xbox live on the 360 that really took it to the next level for me not having a PS3 at launch. One of my first online experiences was Gears of War and it turned me off online for ages the amount of abuse was crazy getting messages of a not so friendly nature going as far as people saying they would find and kill you for not playing well

The best thing to happen for multiplayer on the 360 was party chat because that meant that you didn't have to listen to kids screaming into their mics or coming out through the speakers if you didn't connect your headset.

But enough of the bad let's get back to the good and like i said there is plenty of good out there.

The first multiplayer game i really got stuck into this is my type of multiplayer no nukes no kill streaks no bullshit just have an objective and go out and achieve it. This had a great community of players willing to help each other out thanking people reviving downed players or helping capture a flag. The one downside was it took an eternity to get into a game for a long time after the launch but once it got sorted the game was a blast.

Lost Planet fantastic game with both great online and single player. I put so many hours into this online it had just a great combination of on foot combat grappling hook to get up on ledges and of course mechs. I would always hate when there were Japanese players in a game holy shit those guys were gifted at this game. I remember going up against a full team of Japanese players they destroyed us without any problem. Sadly they never matched how awesome this game was with the sequels.

The only COD multiplayer i have prestiged and not just once but three times. I just could not put this game down and even now there is a community still keeping this alive and just like Lost Planet they never captured the magic of Black Ops with the two sequels. I kick some serious ass with this game so that makes the deal that bit sweeter

That is the last COD game I bought on release, the one I still play on multiplayer and the only COD game where I too have prestiged, on my 5th now.

I recently rebought (from CEX where I sold them, Trebor style) COD 4 and MW 1, but it's been that long since I played them online I'd forgotten all the maps

Rikstewart1979 on Xbox 360 if anyone wants to add me
