Yeah, it's always like that with MMOs because the development and server cost has to be paid for somehow. FFXIV is overtaking World of Warcraft for subscribers though now, it's like a money making machine!

This seems to be one of the new money making models, I'm a bit sick of the crossovers there has already been FF x Dragon Quest and FF x Kingdom Hearts

I can understand Kingdom Hearts crossover, but Ass Creed makes no sense whatsoever. I mean what's next final fantasy fallout. God that would be fun, beefcake gladiolos beating the hell out of a deathclaw

FF7 a masterpiece, FF3 not far behind(may seem a bit quaint nowadays) gave up on FF8, both 9 & 10 seemed a bit too Japanese(in a bad way) and maybe aimed at a more female player, just my opinion tho, playing as a petulant teen idol type was a bit 'meh' for me anyway. The newer games also seem aimed at long sessions which I just can't be arsed with.

FFX is great, to be honest Tidus isn't bad a character, just whiney. Now Wakka he was annoying
