Final Fantasy Thread

Just a thread for the famous RPG series Final Fantasy. 30 years and still going, amazing soundtracks and memorable characters, what's your favourite game? who's your favourite character? Favourite summon?

I always say it's 12 but I played 11 online for about 6 years and then 14 online since the infamously bad alpha testing period and I still play it now, it's just celebrated it's 4th anniversary.

We just got onto the PS4 Dissidia Beta and it's really fun, we played it in the arcades when we went to Tokyo and now it's coming to consoles.

Right now I'm playing ff7 on the ps4 and ff3 on my ds.
I'm still firm that 7 is the best of the series

I like 6 better than 7 ;) and I think 8 had a better storyline and a far better soundtrack, but I know it has legions of fans

Have you ever been to any of the Distant Worlds concerts? I've been 3 times to the Royal Albert Hall, and I also went to a smaller Chamber Orchestra style one called A New World in St Luke's London, we sat next Nobuo and his assistant in the Church Hall and Sam, my other half was beside himself

Knights of the Round? Bahamut Zero or Hades?

FFXIV is a bit of Fan Service to the series, like a bit of a greatest hits and has loads of the old summons and primals as fights in raids and dungeons, Knights of the Round is particularly epic!

Knights of the round and bahamut zero. I've never played XIV because I lost a lot of faith after the XIII series. Which still makes me shudder to this day.

It's an MMO so it's not like the storyline games, but they do have story arcs as main quest lines which you need to complete to get to the endgame. You can play for free up to level 35 so it's worth a go to see if you like it. I think you can buy the non-expansion pack version for about a tenner.
