This kind of banter is funny in a pub, face to face with people you know but in type, on screen doesn't look quite so friendly so can we calm down on the console baiting please.

As someone with a Dreamcast, a Gamecube and a Betamax VCR in the attic I'll be the judge of which format rocks!

point taken.

And for the record, the dreamcast, gamecube and betamax were great for their time.

I loved my DC - very underrated. I have though a penchant for failed consoles/concepts/brands!

Piracy played a good part in the DC's demise Almar.
Every Market and 2nd hand shop stocked bootleg games and boot up discs , 3 or 4 for a tenner.

The DC was the perfect home arcade machine , with some of the best, addictive arcade games ever available , but SEGA pumped most of the promo budget into sponsoring Arsenal instead of TV campaigns to reel in the casual or undicided gamer , surprising as their famous Sonic pirate TV ad's for the Mega Drive was what made SEGA so successful in the 16 bit era ,and give it street cred amongst the youth , over the more powerful SNES.

I know nothing of All Things Console. If I feel a burst of arcade madness coming on I load up MAME 32 and watch as I valiantly but disastrously attempt to revisit Centipede or Defender.

Originally that was my first and only choice but I couldn't decide if the C64 could be classed as a console... It's more of a home computer.

Rename the thread 'Which is the best Gaming System?' and hands down it's the Commodore 64!

I still play 'The Last Ninja' series to this day!!!
