Nordicdusk 14th January 2012 04:25 PM

Metro 2033 xbox 360 I have not played much of it but looks good so far.
Shadow of the Damned PS3 again not played much but seems pretty strange and F****D up.

Pete 14th January 2012 04:37 PM

This may sound like a really, really stupid question, but I want to be sure - can you play old Xbox games on the Xbox 360?

Only some original games work on 360 you will need to download an update for each game. There are lists on the net of which games will work. I think its a stupid move not to make it totally backwards compatible.

its a suda51 game, so pretty much Guarenteed to be F****d up. If you own a wii check out no more heroes and the gcube release of killer 7. If not, no more heroes is on ps3 for move. A game maker worth checking out and one of the closest things the medium has to an auteur.

I dont have a Wii but i have killer 7 for ps2 its very good real strange but suda 51 games are a ray of light in an industry thats the same old same old with every game. Sadly anything different never makes a big splash.

Going back to your earlier post Pete.

If you haven't played the PS2 Medal of Honour games before then you are in for a treat in my opinion. I absolutely love them.

Tanks, they are the worst, absolute bastards, will destroy you along with the building you are hiding in. :coolblue:

I have played them and, I agree they are very good. I remember how amazed I was at the graphics when it first came out for the PS1.

I played through MOH: European Assault before christmas but stopped when I got the Silent Hill collection. I really should load up my save and finish it off.

MOH Frontlines is one of my fav World War games ever made i just love it. I was so happy that the remastered version of it came with the PS3 version of the mew MOH game.

Demdike@Cult Labs 16th January 2012 09:41 PM

All this recent gaming talk is making me want to reopen the box of PS1 games. :smash:

I'll have to give that a go. The shop around the corner from me has a copy so I'll pick it up.

LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW.

Slightly repetitive beat em up enlivened by some brilliant dark humour from James Gunn and great Game design from Suda 51.

Forgot about this thread!

Recent buys:

COMMAND & CONQUER - PS1
DINO CRISIS 3 - X-Box (I didn't know there was a part 3!)
DOOM: RESURRECTION OF EVIL - X-Box. (also contains the original DOOM, DOOM 2 and the Master Levels expansion pack for DOOM 2)
FIFA 2012 - PS2 (Well, I haven't got a PS3 or X-Box 360)
THE GETAWAY: BLACK MONDAY - PS2
GRAND THEFT AUTO: VICE CITY - X-Box. (I already have it for the PS2 but it was £1)
RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN - X-Box. (I also have this for the PS2 but I bought this version because, unlike the PS2 edition, you get the original WOLFENSTEIN 3D as bonus when you complete it)

Its hard as hell, but at the min im playing through SKYRIM

vipco 30th July 2012 03:09 PM

As of today, you next new game bought will no longer carry the BBFC rating as the games industry rating system PEGI has now become law .
The BBFC have now legally no say in the rating of video games here in the UK . Happy days as they never really understand the media.
Sorry if this is in the wrong Thread but it will effect your next game bought and I didn't wanna dig up old Threads for one post.

At least i'm not the only one who thought the BBFC as a private company were something of a monopoly.

Well I'm a happy bunny today because I picked up ISS Pro 98 for the PS1 for £1.99 in Cash Generator.

It may be 14 years old but it's still better than Fifa!

I still have that.

Isn't it Ravanelli on the cover?

Pete 15th September 2012 04:03 PM

Yup, Ravenelli and Paul Ince. The Euro edition replaced Ince with German 'keeper Andreas Kopke.

keirarts 15th September 2012 05:43 PM

Sherlock holmes versus Jack the ripper for pc 99p from cash converter still shrink wrapped, not bad!

Pete 19th September 2012 05:41 PM

Bought FIFA 2007 and Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway for the PC from a charity shop for 99p each.

Yeah it's an old Fifa, but I haven't got any non-manager footy games for it and with it being so cheap I thought what the hell. I like it better than the console versions but it confirmed my suspicion that football games should not be played with a keyboard.

The very best:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Xb...8166976&sr=8-1

Believe me - I loved the original Sony PlayStation analog control pads (PS1 to PS3), but this one's much better. It's perfect for Footy games or Action Adventures, but I mainly use it for Racing games. I recently played the F1 2012 (Codemasters) demo with my Xbox 360 Controller for PC, and I qualified 6th and finished 5th - on the highest difficulty level, driving a Williams Renault.

There's also a wireless version (works fine): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Xb...8166976&sr=8-2

Greetings!

Baseball Fury 20th September 2012 08:21 PM

Yeah, the 360 controller is pretty perfect. Don't buy the Windows specific version though, just pick up a standard wired controller off eBay for £10 or so.

Pete 20th September 2012 08:22 PM

Cheers guys! :)
