Has anybody here played the House Of The Dead III xbox game? I'm thinking of getting it BUT I have no light gun - is it still playable without it?

The game plays fine with the joypad Iluv's. You use the annalogue stick to guide the aiming cross around the screen .
The HOTD series are excellent games and although they're more fun with the gun there's still plenty of fun to be had with the joypad .

You might have to set the sensitivty of the aiming crosshair to suit joypad use but thats easy done via a slider in the options menu , though the Default Setting should be fine .
Just check the 'Blood' option is ON and set to RED , as some times the default for European releases of the HOTD series the is 'Blood' is set to GREEN due to the German censor.

That's pretty interesting that, Vips. So the German's still have the option of changing it back to red though? Very strange censorship decision there. Oh well, I'm looking forward to this now though. Just the other day I managed to play the House Of The Dead arcade machine and luved it.

What do you think about having light gun technology with the 360 mate?

I guess that's the best thing about the Wii. Theres quite a few zombie games. Sadly, my brother's got the Wii and I've got the 360. So to buy a wii would be to give in to the battle of which console is best. Ah, brotherly rivaling

Not enough light gun games on 360 or PS3 to justify the cost of a light gun imho , though personally I think they're great fun.

BTW, I dont think the guns for the oridginal XBOX work on LCD TV's , but the 360 pad works fine .

When Natal and PS Move come out this summer expect to see a few light gun style shooters for 360 and PS3, in fact one of the PS Move launch titles is a light gun style shooter called SHOOT.

The blood colour was locked at Green for Germany so it just became the default colour for all Pal disc's , though optional blood colour's were available , including red, for the rest of the PAL regions.

I got the game today and it's great fun even without the gun! Although the woman character has to be the stupidest person EVER - everything she says is stupid. Gotta luv those stupid people

Was playing Red Dead Redemption yesterday and decided to do a bit of hunting on the way to a mission. After I skinned the rabbit I called my horse and low and behold he fell out of the tree I was standing beside. Funniest gaming moment ever!

MS has offically cut all online support and services for the original XBOX.
Offically the XBOX is now dead and buried to MS as this was the last remaining link to the XBOX that MS had .

RIP XBOX. Thanks for the happy gaming memories.
