First post from my "new" laptop.

Had to put some music on,it's incredibly quiet compared to my tower.

Less and less pleased about Chrome browser lately so decided to customize Firefox to get the minimalistic look of Chrome and performance/privacy of Firefox...

Cool, as I use Puppy Linux, Firedog (a customized Firefox) gives me a faster than Opera browser with minimum file size.

Cool, you use puppy so I guess you got an older computer?
I've seen it run ultra fast on very old pc's.

I'm still thinking about my switch from Chrome to Firefox btw.
I've got them both installed so...

I used to have Opera but it was too slow compared to other browsers.

Puppy is the only way I could use my laptop after a HDD crash (thought about a new HDD and 'finding' a Windows o.s. but Puppy worked a treat, then I bought an IBM thinkpad 2.8ghz desktop from a charity shop for £25 as they 'can't get it to boot' (it was a password locked server unit) so I wiped the HDD and installed both Puppy linux and Puppy arcade on dual partitions, suits my needs well (tho the lack of software compared to windows is frustrating)

Used to use Opera under windows, seemed okay at the time but looking back it just wasn't (tho on a phone as a mobile browser it stomps built in browsers to bits) Firedog just seems so fast, even when my connection slows to a crawl, pages zip up on screen with ease.

Ingenious!
Depending on your pc's specs you could try Zorin (Linux based but very like Windows):

"What are the minimum system requirements that I need to install Zorin OS?

For the GNOME based versions (non Lite):
700 MHz x86 processor
3GB of Hard Drive space
376 MB of system memory (RAM)
Graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
Sound card

For the LXDE based versions (Lite):
266 MHz x86 processor
2GB of Hard Drive space
128 MB of system memory (RAM)
Graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
Sound card"

Zorin OS - Home

Is this for continuous use or just to back up data from time to time?
