We're Livin' On Dog Food (2009, Richard Lowenstein)

Ostensibly a history of the Australian punk scene, with a slight emphasis on the film Dogs In Space, which is also about that partlcular era. This I recommend really for the live footage, scant though tis, some of it is exhilarating ahem.

Get Thrashed : The Story of Thrash

Great doc with lots a great pictures I had never seen before from the early days of 80s thrash and some real funny stories. The interviews with Slayer are the best with the typical tough guy seriousness of Kerry King and all the time Tom just keeps laughing his head off telling his side of the stories gotta love Tom serious musician but not a serious guy but Kerry King always how awesome am I

The full doc is on YouTube fun time.

N.Y.H.C

Doc about the New York Hardcore scene. This started out really interesting but then the interviews just started getting too ridiculous. People think there is a lot of posturing in metal but here wow and the funniest thing it's not from the big hardcore bands it's from the guys that have don't nothing. That sort of carry on just grates on me if I wanna hear this tough guy BS I'll just go outside and hear it on the street

Needless to say I didn't get to the end.

Diary Of A Deadbeat (2015, Victor Bonacore)

The Jim Van Bebber Story.
Being the adventures of an independent film maker. See him struggle! See him pontificate! Seriously, this was an interesting look at a man who refuses to compromise, whether tis detrimental to his work or not. Recommended.

Pennywise: The Story Of IT

2 hour caper about a clown.
Seriously, this goes from the writing of the novel to the TV version etc etc. Tim Curry is in it so that was nice. Tis on YT (for the moment), so save yourselves some £ and enjoy.

The Death Of Superman: What Happened.

A insight to the 90s film of Superman that was almost started with a script by Kevin Smith with ideas from producer Jon Peters and Tim Burton who was brought on board to direct. Burton didn't want to use Smith's script but brought in a writer who got fired and brought in another. Nicholas cage was brought on board and then everything went into development hell with a quite big budget and then to being cancelled. This is on YT and does have Spanish subtitles attached to it though.

You're So Cool Brewster: The Story Of Fright Night.

A insight into making the 1985 film on how Tom Holland came up with the idea of the film, to writing and actors along with the crew behind the scenes and make up effects were done on a budget that was given.

Fright Night Part II was green lit in 1987 with Tommy Lee Wallace with Four of the original cast set to return but only Roddy and William returning, the set up of the plot to shooting locations and then agreeing for it to be released until disaster happening that the film never got a proper theatrical run and marketing that made the film bomb until it was released on home video that made it more of a cult classic. If you have 3 hours to spare this was interesting to watch and understand how some effects were achieved.

The Go Go Boys: The Inside Story Of Cannon Films (2014, Hilla Medalia)

In true Cannon style, when they heard that a doc was being made about themselves, they jumped up and rattled this one out sharpish.
Starting with their early success in Israel, they soon head to "Mecca" ahem ie Hollywood. Focusing mainly on their "busy" years, this is a fine enough counterpart to the other one imho.

I'd like to see this one, I've watched the 'other' one multiple times already.
