You should remedy that when the BD is released as it is a brilliant film and is almost the flipside of the coin to 2001: A Space Odyssey, as it's less about technological advances and man's evolution and all about humanity. It's the sort of film which will have you in tears at the end, and for the right reasons too.

Actually, Silent Running and 2001 would make a great double bill.

Good call, but I'd still throw in 2001: A Space Odyssey simply for the visuals - it's the cold, technological film which makes you appreciate Silent Running's warmth and humanity even more.

Only seen it once, many years ago, it bored the pants off me. Sorry.
