Yeah, the steelbook just has the one disc. :(

And the wrong one too ;)

I much prefer the theatrical cut.

It does seem as if Warner are really pushing the 'Director's Cut' now that William Friedkin has stated it's his preferred version. I was really tempted by the Steelbook but, because the longer cut is my least favourite of the two, I haven't bought it... yet!

I was tempted to buy the US digibook release, but I'm happy with my UK release. Both have the two cuts, and I guess the re-release is more about targeting steelbook fans.

I've heard of people who will just buy it because it is a steelbook and not even watch the film!

I'll probably buy it because I do like Steelbooks and because, some quibbles aside, even the Writer's Cut (as I call it) is a stunning piece of filmmaking.

I also like steelbooks, although I promised myself that once I went Blu my double-dipping days would be over (Bird with the Crystal Plumage and New York Ripper aside!).

I try not to double-dip on BDs but, as it's my favourite film and I have both the UK and US releases, I figured 'Why not?' and have just ordered the Canadian Steelbook.

I Married a Witch and Double Team.

The 4th Fella 30th October 2011 09:22 PM

Veronica Lake as a witch, what's not to like? And I admit that Double Team isn't one of JCVD's better films, but I need it for my 'Maximum Van Dammage' season.
