Well, I just watched the Boulevard release of Kraken/Deadly Water and it reveals itself at the end of the film. When the film is over, the disk defaults to a Top Menu easily recognisable from a Panasonic DVD recorder - complete with information about which AV channel of the machine they used, on what day and at what time!

As a proud owner and frequent user of a Panasonic DVD recorder, I can assure you that Panasonic's firmwares/hardware they have a tendency to be a bit finicky and vague about aspect ratio flagging; varying according to input signal and even what kind of blank media is used to record onto.

If Boulevard used a domestic Panasonic DVD recorder for their master, no wonder it confuses different machines using different interface protocols!

Even though the steelys are nice I will skip the Thing prequel.
Was not that great, maybe I will buy standard version when its £6 :lol

No wonder it wasn't the most expensive DVD around! I wonder what my players will make of the disc.

Of course! Great fun. It annoyed me where I knew the young lad from all the way through the film. I had to go to IMDb to find out he's now the star of TV phenomenon Glee!

Jack Scalia was hilarious!
