It's not. Jackson hasn't made a decent film since THE FRIGHTENERS (I haven't seen HEAVENLY CREATURES so can't comment on that). Have absolutely no intention of seeing THE HOBBIT.

I like the LOTR films, I saw all 3 of them over 3 xmas eves. I prefer Fellowship compared to the other 2
