Oh dear, despite the issues with it, I've just gone and spent a little less than £80 for the Friday The 13th Complete Collection on Blu-ray. All it takes is a YouTube unboxing video, and a shiny tin and I'm sold :(. I have so many releases of this series of films, it feels wrong not to pick it up, despite some of the choices they've made with it. I'm quite looking forward to running through them all actually, especially with the Crystal Lake Memories documentary just having come out too. Although it's cheaper elsewhere at least using Amazon.com it should arrive in a strudy box, and I'm able to pay the import fees upfront. |

I shouldn't... But I might :p |
Your purchase posts are always so interesting, oaxaca. :) |
Friday 13th looks to be a poor Cash-in. Same old R rated versions missing some of the older commentary tracks and a few recycled extras. I expect poor sales and a huge price drop later on with unsold mounds of stock. |
The Friday set IMO will be worth it just for the HD transfers, which are all very solid from my reading. The recycled extras suck if you have the old releases, but if you have those, at least you have the missing 2 commentaries. As for Jason Goes To Hell, the R Rated cut fiasco sucks really, especially since the UV codes has a same quality unrated cut in HD. But Freddy Vs Jason gets an audio bump up over the previous release, Part 4 gets its own disc, extras filled and most extras get a HD bump up, and there's little goodies and ahhh. Anyway, for $87 from Import CDs, it's not a bad deal, especially since I don't have any other releases, and have been waiting for this to see all past 4, well 3 since the 4 I saw was absolutely slaughtered on VHS by Aussie Censors. So I'll probably get this soon, in an order with American Hippie In Israel due to limited numbers and glowing reviews, and In The Mouth Of Madness when the preorder goes up, love that movie. |
