Not really, I didn't get around to them for ages. Hated the first so much, but from then on they're solid by the numbers slashers...

For years I hated the Friday series, I was much too enamored with European Cult Cinema to give them the time of day, but as I rolled into my 30's I revisited the series and it brought back warm memories of watching these films as I kid, people I saw them with, the way I felt about things at the time, so now they're kind of special to me. Kinda the same with Elm Street...

I'm not a huge fan of the 'Friday the 13th' films but i have seen them all, in my opinion the first four are the best, and the very best one for me is part 4.
I think Savini stopped doing the effects after 4 and when he left they lost a lot of their power.

He only did parts 1 and 4, and he only agreed to do 4 because it was supposed to be the Final Chapter, he turned down part 2 to do the Burning, and we thank him for that (well I do anyway)
First one I saw was 6:Jason Lives on TV back in the early 90's, Jason's resurrection scene I thought was great!

No, just the first and part 4, I've no idea without checking who did 2&3, but I do know they had a hard job following the Master

I'll let Nos have the pleasure of that following those Exorcist comments.

I find it hard to believe any horror fan hasn't seen The Exorcist, but I can understand people being reluctant to watch it for fear it doesn't live up to its lofty reputation.

As far as Friday the 13th goes, I'm not a massive fan of the series but prefer the early films before Jason becomes ridiculously superhuman and indestructible and will watch one of the first three tonight.

Pre-ordered the American Hippie Blu-ray, missed out on the DVD as it was poorly publicized and sold out quickly. Looking forward to watching it.

Also found a Thai region 3 release of ROJO SANGRE with Paul Naschy for the princely sum of £1.

Also got another weird looking Thai horror called DARK DEVIL, again £1. A uk DVD of MADISON COUNTY for 50p and THE CORRIDOR on Blu-ray at £2.99.

Prompted by Demdike's excellent review of The Seventh Victim, I've just ordered The Val Lewton Horror Collection.
