I always thought there was a nice cross pollination between Lifeforce and Return of the Living Dead. Lifeforce was co-written by Dan O'Bannon who would also write the screenplay for The Return of the Living Dead (which was to be directed as a 3D film by Tobe Hooper) made the same year as Lifeforce. Both films have some interesting parallels, and at least one idea, a shrivelled corpse coming to life on a mortician's slab, would be recycled between films...

Also SATYRICON are playing a few days before so im bloody distracted now knowing i cant see that gig and a few weeks later Shining are playing :(

I saw Satyricon a few years ago at Manchester Academy.

Wow!! They were sooo heavy. Despite their riffs being less extreme than a lot of bands they blew all the other BM groups away that i'd seen.

I have just the one Sigur Ros album, Ágætis byrjun - I kinda got slightly fed up with their vocalist's stylings, but having said that I'd say they would be fantastic to see live... As for the other band, I'm strictly an old-school death metal guy, I wouldn't know anything beyond Obituary's The End Complete record... when was that... 1992 ? Jesus, 1992 !

Apologies for digressing.

Great pick up... it's a good read. Have you any HG Lewis films in the collection ?
