Bought a cheap new Panny bd player after reading about some "tricks",will be hopefully testing it this weekend.

Assuming "tricks" means multi-region BD then which model and how to switch (firmware). I would like to go MR for blu-ray. At the moment my plan is to buy a player later in the year while I am in Canada, but that also means the hassle of a transformer so a hackable decent brand european player would be fantastic.

Yes multi region bd (with some tricks),well it's too soon to say anymore...don't want to get anyone's hopes up and then end up crushing them
Maybe I can post my findings after some testing if that's allowed (don't really know the policy on this on here).

Should be fine, since this very thread has an untold amount of imported A region BDs being watched in the Euro area daily(the UK does have daft laws regarding modding for cash tho, some poor bugger got the police at his door for modding consoles/dvd/BD players by mail order because..."they then could playback pirated films/games" I kid you not)
