What Have You Bought Recently?

My bluray of Big Bad Wolves arrived from the U.S. Unfortunately, despite the assurances of the company I bought to from, it is region A locked. So I will have to wait a couple of months before I can watch it (I hope to pick up a regio A machine while on holiday).

It's been ages since my last visit. I've been having problems with my internet, but all is sorted now.

My recent purchases yesterday. All Blu-Ray's.

Some good stuff there mate.
American Horror Story is a bit hit and miss but it's pretty good overall.
Point Break is a great film goodness knows why I haven't got it myself yet.
Public Enemy isn't bad at all, not up there with Heat but a million times better than Miami Vice.
Gran Torino's a good watch too, not exactly a lighthearted affair but still a fine film. And there's a lot to be said for Eastwood playing a hardass without pretending to be twenty years younger than he is.

You're in for a treat – Gran Torino is a triumph of directing and acting by Clint Eastwood and extremely powerful, even on repeated viewings.

The book that Public Enemies is based on is a cracking good history of the bank robbers in the U.S. in the 1930s (bought the film after reading the book)

The book that Public Enemies is based on is a cracking good read on the bank robbers in the U.S. in the early 1930s (bought the film on the strength of the book) and makes a great companion to the film.
