I've not read the book or watched this film. I've watched the old Cagney film though, which is excellent!

Just thinking about this film sends shivers down my spine. It's probably on my list of all time worst films.

Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary is a strange little film... quite surreal in places with an erotic vibe running throughout. You can't really expect anything else from the director of Alucarda and The Mansion of Madness though! The Redeemer is a bit like a poor man's Slaughter High (even though it indeed pre-dates that film). SH just used the plot far more effectively in my opinion. The Redeemer is certainly not without its charms though, and even though a little 'rough and ready' I like it.

Saw this 2 disc box set in CEX for £2.50(as new) and promptly filled a glaring gap in my dvds. (shamefully, it's one of the few truly great films I've never owned a copy of in my 54 years)
